Finding Japanese music?

#1
Where do you guys get your Japanese music from? I would use Jpopsuki, but using bittorrent is kinda dangerous at my school.

Depends. If it's a famous band you can usually get some stuff on big torrent sites. For single songs, I usually rip them from youtube. If it isn't on youtube, you can check IRC channels... lots of Japanese stuff on Rizon.

If I really want something which is impossible to find, I ask my girlfriend to buy the CD for me... hasn't really happened yet though, I usually find the music eventually.

I use imeem.com in combination with Free Music Zilla to get most of my Japanese music these days. I also like Hongfire.com or something similar to that, all the downloads are direct and they even had Mean Machine's album "CREAM" which seems to be pretty rare.

Weird, I can never get more than 1-2KB/s from there.

Whew. Thought it was just me. I was getting 3k/s yesterday and was about to post that it was dead slow and torrents were far preferable to me. Then I saw the 'fast' post and decided better of it.

Yeah, I tried yesterday night and I got about 10-15 kb/s for one song. Then I just said screw it and started downloading like 7 or 8 songs at a time and they all seemed to still cap at about 10-15 kb/s, so even that was better than just one song at a time.

I do like the selection the site offers though. They have a lot of artists that I know of, and many new ones as well.

You'd say "screw it" at 15 kb/s...?

Australia truly is a third world country.

Edit: donations most welcome

google 'em
tainted-world (rock)
japandata
livejournal communities
sometimes blogs
I download so much, i have like 30gb+ now. some are so hard to find but they mad good so its' worth it.

just keep googling and you'll find the blog/community/forum/etc that has the kind of music you like. just keep branching out, cause mainstream is gonna kill your growth like j-pop as far as lyrics.

or google WITHOUT QUOTES "name of band album megaupload"
or replace megapuload with mediafire.
