google searching

Tobberoth mentioned においがする on the other thread so I thought I'd do a Google search to find some uses in context.

I typed においがする in hiragana and have a look at some of these matches:

2ちゃんねる実況中継 なんか匂いがする
増税と不景気のにおいがする福田改造内閣|山崎元のマルチスコープ ...
おんなじニオイがする
(Google's emboldening)

It matched kanji and katakana from my hiragana input. That is how amazing!!!

Wow, I didn't know Google could do that, that's really impressive actually O.O

Personally, I use yahoo.jp when doing Japanese searches though, they are MUCH bigger in Japan than google.

Just tried yahoo.jp with においがする but it only found identical hits. Google has clearly one up on yahoo in this case, and it's quite a significant advantage.

I also couldn't get yahoo.jp on my Firefox 3 search box. Does anyone know how to do that?

I installed Japanese Firefox and it's there automatically.
