I saw a book with a title like this while looking in a Japanese bookstore. It had a bunch of grammar points, with an average of 9 example sentences for each. Does anyone know more about this? It looked rather useful.

It doesn't look like something that's easy to find. It's not on amazon, either. Searching the book on google lists this page as first.

There's a book called くらべてわかる　日本語表現文型辞典, by 岡本牧子 and 氏原庸子 that has recently been published (August 2008).

It covers advanced grammar points and sentence patterns, and is all in Japanese.

Compared to the Japan Times Intermediate & Advanced dictionaries, it's quite compact, and the explanations and example sentences are shorter.

Honestly, I feel these are the best Japanese grammar books out there.

No, I've seen those books, they're very good books, but different. The book I saw was red. the どんな時どう使う books are white. I think.
