I have a question that I haven't seen answered yet. Does the iKnow website work on mobile phones? I would be willing to pay for internet service on my palm phone if that is the case.
Thanks in advance,
jon

cracky Wrote:1062 total unique kanji. In case anyone's interested, here are the equivalent figures for the present total of 6,000 iKnow sentences:
Jouyou: 1016 of 1945 (52.2%).
Katsuo Wrote:Ha, I was hoping you'd show up with your mad list skillz. I'm disappointed, I was hoping I could cover all the readings with iKnow. It's not a big deal, it just would have been nice to complete the set up front and incidentally acquire frequent, contextualized vocabulary at the same time.cracky Wrote:1062 total unique kanji. In case anyone's interested, here are the equivalent figures for the present total of 6,000 iKnow sentences:

Hashiriya Wrote:wow! apparently iKnow is coming to the iPhone soon! check here: http://www.iknow.co.jp/user_forum/56/top...ost_574518Um, not exactly. They said the API is in place, but the iPhone version isn't spec'd out yet... In other words, they haven't even started planning it.
chamcham Wrote:I was at Borders bookstore some time ago and happened to come across a book about using iKnow to study Japanese!I am pretty sure they are not the same thing. I believe they are named similarly but are products that are produced by two different companies.
In fact they have it in a variety of languages:

chamcham Wrote:Well it talks about how iKnow works on the iphone and ipod touch. That proves it's not the same. iKnow does -not- work on the iPhone or iPod Touch yet. It's something they plan to work on in the future.
The books are all from December 2008.
So I'm pretty sure it's the same.
i really do love it's goal mode though but at the same time i do think a program like anki is necessary for long term memory... iknow is certainly good for quick-sticking things into your head though... i still enjoy my RtK lists that i have made on there... i might make the jump to anki when i begin the kanji odyssey lists...
Tobberoth Wrote:So Nukemarine, you've stopped using iKnow now and only use Anki?Well, more like Anki and RevTK. I'm doing RTK on here, Tae Kim sentences on Anki, and iKnow items on Anki.
Nukemarine Wrote:I must say that using iKnow's list on Anki in the last month has been very enjoyable lately. I like the time boxing, the stats, the ability to change my sentences (kanjify a few words), testing dictation and reading seperately, testing ALL my due cards without wading through 5 lists, having a reasonable faith in the SRS, etc.I haven't begun starting to import iKnow sentences into Anki in the interest of finishing RTK1 first. However, I'm rapidly approaching the time when I will. You mention that Anki allows you to test diction and reading. Do you use the import from iKnow plugin to achieve this functionality?
