You don't support megaupload by downloading a small file from it. You support it by posting multiple large files that incur the annoying, arbitrary limits the site sets forth -thus making people consider purchasing an account to be rid of the the tedium.

Now you've got yourself a loophole through which your selective moral tastes can find solace.

PS. Every download site in the vein of megaupload has porn. LOT'S of it. At least megaupload attempts to separate the questionable material from the rest.

Cut Dankoochoo some slack... he hasn't attacked porn itself, or people who watch porn... He just indicated his totally legitimate choice not to use a porn-supporting company...

I just think his moral crusade against Megaupload is kind of amusing, since he apparantly doesn't even understand the relationship between the two services. Megaporn isn't a section of Megaupload reserved for porn. There isn't even a link to Megaporn anywhere on Megaupload's website, so far as I can tell. They're sister companies. It'd be kind of like refusing to eat at Pizza Hut because you think tacos are immoral.

I recently saw the anime Paprika and I really like this movie method idea and thought I´d give it a try. This is what I came up with on the go, some of it could use more work though.
(Obvious spoilers here if you havn´t seen the movie. It won´t make much sense anyway if you havn´t seen it.)

Ok now it´s not really movies but I think this is working for me. I don´t like breaking down kanji into primitives when doing these stories either, it only gets more confusing for me then.

You're basically doing what I'm doing. I don't know movies well enough to get stories from them. There aren't many movies I've seen more than once or that really stick in my head. So I also just come up with 'random' stories, with characters that have the same onyomi. It worked for me.

I counted roughly a little more than 300.

Reviewing this method, it could be used for any situation that you are familiar with.

Someone mentioned 'memory palaces' ... this is where you mentally assign parts of familiar environments in order to remember things. For example, a shopping list or a phone number can be remembered using a palace technique. (search google)

So, instead of a movie, you could use a complicated environment like a workshop or store to represent a kun grouping rather than a particular movie.

You don't have to use movies exactly - but for kanji with many meanings you'll need to choose a room that has more than a couch in it (but don't forget to make use of the ceiling, cornices, threads of the carpet, window sill etc)

Key is to use things you are already familiar with to create hooks for the memories to take root with - connect to existing knowledge.
