Wheat is tree with an extra drop on the top. When wheat doesn't fit into a story does anyone use tree + drop? I used it for autumn 秋 The trees burst into red flame in autumn, starting with the leaf at the very top.
Do you reckon it will cause problems?

Autumn for me is just how the wheat bursts into flames, cause it's fire season.
Oh and no, what you do won't cause any problems.

Yeah heisig says somewhere in the book that its fine to do that, I do that for some kanji. But i must say, i prefer using the full primitive. I find myself only breaking everything up when i have a very hard time decoding the kanji.
