@Tykkylumi Don't be afraid of taking a break from reviewing for a bit. I had a break of 2 weeks in the middle of doing RtK, and though it was tough catching up with so many reviews (plus I'd forgetting how to write tons of primatives), the stories all came flooding back.
I also took a 4 month break from reviewing last year, and again all came when i started again!
Actually I now view these breaks as valuable, as it allowed me to truely which kanji had proper stories that truely stuck, which I had just rote memorised (around 20% of them).

Yeesh, I have such long way to go...I'm on 104. Started about four days ago and I keep thinking about the daunting number of kanji before me.
For all you stressing about schoolwork, Good luck!

104 Kanji in 4 days!!! In my first 4 days of japanese i couldn't write あいうえお!!!
You're on the fast track to awesome just look at the path behind you not in front of you!
By the end of the week you'll double your Kanji stats. and towards the end you pick up momentum so don't worry about the numbers. There will always be Kanji you do NOT know that's life you're learning Japanese not Chinese and even if you're learning Chinese you're not trying to learn every character. 無理無理無理だよ (muri dayo)
Welcome to Heisig method it's a "long" journey but it all works out in the end! It is a really really short journey compared to other methods so enjoy it. You are better than your classmates or peers because you decided to start Heisig Method at least 4 days before them.
I'll look forward to seeing you in the completed thread!

Did 84 kanji in the past two days. I'm now at almost 250 (forgot the actual number) and I don't have any problems with most of them. It's fun learning the kanji and remembering them, but I'm having serious motivation issues. I want to be done with RTK1 by the end of May, so my goal is 50 or more per day--haven't reached that quite yet. But every time I learn more, I just keep thinking how far away I am from the end. It's frustrating.

Hello Henrsand, as I see you're new to this Forum, and welcome you on that. I hope you'll get such a good experience as is did.
In case of Kanji...not just Kanji, in many aspects of my life I'm a man of extremes.
As i started with Heisig back then, i was not different as I am now. I took the book, and was fascinated by the strength, the method and Heisig by himself showed me. As i got the book i worked through over 100 Kanjis...it was addictive. And hell yes, it felt amazing.
But life itself changes...I do look at the path behind me, yes, it is a long road, and many people couldn't travel longer on that path (i don't want to discourage anyone!).
But as I look behind me, i do look in front of me...and there's still a long way to go =D

I've had once a big break in summer 2010. I needed time until now to make myself study again. I don't want to risk this by giving me to much space ...have to be strict with myself :/

*ehem* Sorry, misinterpreted it. I'm taking too breaks...The brain needs breaks, its elemental. After 50 minutes you SHOULD take a break, otherwise the brain is going nuts and berserk, rampaging over your soul
