Japanese job opportunities

#1
Seeing as I will soon be jobless in order to make time for my Japanese studies... I'm curious as to whether how easily said studies will pay off in the form of a career for later. I've never actually seen an extensive list of Japanese job opportunities (in countries outside of Japan). I've seen generalized things like translators and interpreters, but this doesn't say too much. I want to know all the specific little possibilities. Also, do most careers require that you have taken classes at a university?

Also, anyone know how difficult it is be hired as a translator or editor for a manga/anime licensing company (Viz/Geneon, etc)? Do most of these require applicants to have attended a university, or will simply a community college do in some cases?

Thank you Smile

A more appropriate place for this type of questions is IMO gaijinpot. Even if those are mostly centered on finding a job in Japan. I understand that's not what you're aiming at. Still worth checking out.
