SuperMemo for Palm OS

#1
Okay, so since I'm headed to Europe very soon, I've been looking for a program that uses the Leitner flashcard system for my Palm OS (so I dont have to take my laptop with me just to use anki (and the anki for palm os doesnt use Leitner flashcard system Sad )). So I find this SuperMemo program, havent installed it yet, but was wondering if any of you used it yet- and if so, is it possible to import a large ammount of heisigs kanji? instead of doing it one by one :|

Don't know about Supermemo on the Palm, but I have been using the Twinkle flashcard software for RTK2 on an old Palm T and have been very happy with it.

http://twinkle.sourceforge.net/

RTK1 is availabe as a sample flashcard deck.

I've used the supermemoPALM database file provided by Todd Rudick on a T|X for sometime (actually bought the palm just for that reason). Interface is much worse than the pocketPC version, and virtually no statistics, but it works without a hitch. The only issues I faced was getting j-font support to function correctly.

You can find the db file here:

enjoy!

UGH, Both programs wont display the kanji font on my palm z22...... The anki program I installed (that doesnt use the leitner system) easily shows kanji(because I installed the Japanese font for it) , how exactly did you guys go about this?

I installed some random program called CJKOS I read about on the internet, it doesn't help Sad

CJKOS is exactly what I used to get j-font support. I have the demo version 4.621. Make sure that you "Enable CJKOS" in the prefs, and choose Shift-JIS as the character set. The "Smart Detect Char Set" function always got it wrong for me - so I kept that off. Make sure that you have also installed the Japanese fonts along with the package.

I was under the impression that Twinkle came with Japanese fonts, as the developer says that the Japanese fonts used in Twinkle come from PAdict, a Japanese dictionary for Palms. But as I also have PAdict installed, maybe this dictionary has to be installed to provide Twinkle its fonts? I don't know.... Good luck!

I've not tried this because it requires a lot of memory and my ooooold Palm doesn't have much but maybe this would work? http://www.geocities.com/andrew_brault/d...cards.html

The point is I need to find something with the Leitner system... regular flashcard programs are not of interest :/
