I'm a mac noob. Primitives "little" (like in 蛸) and "horns" (like in 溢す) are sometimes displayed upside-down, depending on the character. Has anyone run into this before? Is there a fix?

This looks like a Safari font thing. Try opening in Firefox - or some word processor and it should be fine. -d

Thanks ew8049. That worked, but I still get the weird characters in anki. Any ideas?
