Okay, finally, at 1531. Somehow the jump from 1/2 to 3/4 took me absolutely forever. About 2 months I think. I just went to Europe for a couple of weeks, and had to kill a huge huge stack of reviews before finally adding the last few to 1531.

However, I want to finish next week. I'm done screwing around. So off I go!

Done... now only one small step more.... ....

I arrived yesterday to frame 1530! About 2 more weeks to go...!

When should I stop reviewing btw? (I'll continue reviewing, anyway, for some time...)

RTK is so awesome, now when I read some stuff I didn't know the kanji several weeks ago, I can actually read. I'm still adding sentences now and then, from Genki, so I can start college and finish RTK with all ready.

Never! Just keep successfully reviewing until the SRS system pushes your reviews to under 10 a week..

Never thought that could happen. It'll take a lot of time. Anyway, I just asked out of curiosity, because I'll study both mandarin and japanese so it's essential. I'm think of buying RTH, and RTK3, but I'm not sure yet. I have so many books to buy... (chinese and japanese grammar). Yeah, I like AJATT, but I still want to make exercices, at least to practice for tests.

1550 here but a little stressed about this damn book...started for the second time at the end of June, now I have 50 failed cards that piss me off...hmm

Have to say, apart from the Spider-man chapter, 1/2 way to 3/4 has been a real struggle. So many new primitives and obscure keywords, it's taken me ages. Lets hope it's now a smooth path to the finish!

That's so true. I feel the same way.

I just noticed that almost all the chapters from now until the finish contain under 30 characters!

Well, I found that it was all downhill after the "Person" frame, from 1/2 on I boosted the kanji I add, either RTK has became easier or I got better at it.

Just made it last night! Just 2 weeks left before I'm finished. (It felt so good typing that).

So I guess from now on I'm going to be going at a lesson a day from now on , light at the end of the tunnel, it's all down hill from here, ect, ect...

Well... just got there last night. frame 1540. WooHoo! trying to do 20 a day from now on and try to finish by the end of the month. Gonna have to take tonight off though cuz I can't even think clearly thanks to being sick :-\

Wish I could be done now. Ahhh!. Oh well... Will be done at some point.

Got waaaay derailed this summer, but am finally back on track. On month 8.... I should have been better about it, but looking backward won't help anything.

Only 1/4 left. I am pushing through and plan to post in the completed thread by Halloween!

Ah yes, the 3/4 mark. I struggled with the spiderman (糸) characters. The guy just doesn't have a very strong personality.

I'm aiming to finish by the end of the year. Downhill from here I hope.

They get bigger, but the last 1/4 is somehow easier (meaning reviews don't pile up much higher), and then ... magically ... reviews start tapering off.

If you are like me (and who says you are?), you'll get to the end with about 1,800 or 1,900 cards in the right-hand box. And then, although the reviews taper off, some of the cards you *thought* were solid start rearing their ugly heads, having been on "vacation" for several months or longer. So you'll regress a bit, maybe even a hundred from the right-hand box. But those kanji you thought were solid, but were not, will soon become truly solid. You just keep going, and everything gets fixed.

Just do the #*&% reviews. You ain't finished when you're finished, but you'll know when you are finished, which is to say that you'll never be completely finished, but you'll have a great handle on something you thought was only a dream when you started.

I think I was reviewing about 100 a day near the end, and that has dwindled to about 30 a day now (after a couple months). This gets dispensed with in less than 15 minutes now. Once you aren't adding, eventually the stuff you glossed over at first gets pounded into your skull, even if it's thicker than mine.

One point for sure: If you can get to 3/4 mark, you can, and damn well should, finish. You have done the bulk of the work, and quitting now would be a tragedy even Shakespeare could not have imagined. Head down, move forward. Period.

It seems so far away, I cant wait for it I also try to do 100 a day, for me 50 a day is my minimum. But sometimes I get so slowed down by all the work i get at university, that i miss some review at times. So this is how its been for me. day1: add 50+review. day2:work, no time for RTK, done a small number of reviews at 3:00AM in the morning. day3: studied and added 100 cards, reviewed everything(takes a whole day).

So... If i do 100 a day for 4 more days i should have finished most of rtk

On the home stretch! Hopefully the last quarter is better than the one I just did. Some horrible primatives in that last bunch.

Congrats to the people that have gotten 3/4 so far! I should of been here by now, but man, too much school work has been holding me back. The only thing I have time for is reviewing *sigh*

Woohoo! 1531! I'm going to stop short today to celebrate (was supposed to learn up to 1535). 3/4 done with RtK, cold weather, oatmeal cookies, The Office Halloween episode... good day all around. Congrats to all those who made it this far- we are mighty men of yore.

3/4! Made it to the half-way point on October 23rd, and today I'm 3/4 of the way done (well, on frame 1530, close enough). Averaged a bit under 30 frames/day in that period which was a good deal better than the 19 frames/day I averaged for the first half... going by lessons seems to work out better for me than trying to set a fixed number per day. If I stick to my current plan (1 lesson per day with a 40 frame/day limit, anything more than 40 gets broken up into multiple days) I should be done by the end of the month.

Its at the point where the end seems so close yet so far away. I feel like I should be going faster, but I know if I tried to speed things up much more I'd just end up killing myself on reviews.

Congrats! Ahh, I'm so close to this point also. Currently at 1400 ;/ only 131 more to go.

Just hit 1500. From around 1200/1300's up until now has been extremely tough for me, but there's not much left! Hopefully I won't be missing my goal day by too much..

A finally after so long just got to the 3/4 mark. Seems like I'm going to be done by end of November, right on track. Never even thought I would make it this far.
