How much time do you spend each day on RTK?

Northern_Lord Wrote:You're progressing really fast. Gonna be finished in no time like this, killuaI get 300+ reviews per day, those alone require 45-60 minutes. I can do them on the go thanks to AnkiDroid, so they aren't much of a problem.

Vempele Wrote:Those speeds (time per review and time per new character) aren't significantly different from what mine were, and I only did recognition. Very impressive. For the reviews it's pretty easy. I write down the kanji only if it is non-mature or with a difficult stroke order. I fail the flashcard if I need too much time to recall the answer.
How do you do it so fast?
Quote:I only did recognitionUnusual, but interesting. Were you able to reproduce the characters after?
Quote:I think my reviewing goes fast enough. I use my pointing as "pencil" and just draw the lines very quickly on the table. New characters I write out with a pencil though.I always write down new characters as you do.
Quote:I look at the next character in the book, go to the koohii study page, skim through the stories, make my own story if I can't relate to them. Then write the kanji down. It's OK. Sometimes I need to go through the whole process, but I found this to be the exception rather than the rule.

Quote:BTW. are anyone else here sick of the Mr. T stories?I don't particularly love them. I really liked the Pinnacle ones though.

EDIT:
But... wait, Heisig's description of the words? Where did you find them in parsable format?

killua Wrote:I've learned so far 1200 Kanjis, but my deck is complete. It contains 2198 Kanjis (2041 from 4th edition + 157 from the supplement). I can generate the deck for you if you want with or without the supplement and with or without the Heisig descriptions. I can also set the number of stories to be included from kanji.koohii.com. I dediced to use the top 10 just to limit the file size, as the current deck has size of about 15mb. It would probably be about 50mb if I were to include all descriptions.pmnox Wrote:I saved some time by creating my deck by simply copying, using a script written by me, the top 10 stories and Heisig description of the word.I wanted to do the same, then I found the premade deck on AnkiWeb.

Northern_Lord Wrote:In the (maybe unelikely) case you don't know I'll mention it. If you have a smart phone you can try installing anki on your phone. Maybe it works better downloading a deck from there.Heh, I suppose that would be a real test. But I'd like to switch the order to see if I RECOGNIZE the kanji instead of knowing how to write it... which is not possible with the website.
If laptop's the only option then I'd recommend chosing someone here on the forum that you trust and ask them the favor of exporting an RTK deck into an Anki deck package file and send it to you by email. Then you open the file in anki and the deck should get imported.
If all fails you could take this as a good oportunity to find out what cards are solidly rooted in your mind. When you come back from vacation, faceing 800 decks you should have no qualms about selecting "easy" on cards you still remember (as some of them will be up to 3 weeks overdue)
