Congrats Elysium!
I just made it to 1547 myself....and I'm tired too! I just want to push through the rest of RtK as soon as possible.

Well I never posted before so I figured I may as well now^^
Yay 1531! Such a hard slog, at least the entertaining Kanji make up for those annoying boring where you jsut sit there going, errrrrrr...
Been a long 30 odd days; huge numbers of reivews now too :S hopefully I can get the remaing covered in the next 10 days or so and slowly dwindle the size of the daily reviews afterwards.

I'm on frame 1500. Should hopefully reach 1550 tonight. It's taken me so much longer just to get to this point than it should have. looks like my deck is about 3.2 months old. I did the first 900 or so Kanji at 50 a day breezing through it. But lately the Kanji seem harder to develop concrete images for and my motivation is dwindling.
Been working on Core 2k and reading through Japanese the Manga way as well. Those are good fun. I've completed step one of Core 2k so far and I really like it, and I find Japanese the Manga Way quite entertaining and informative. But I'm hating Kanji right now. I really just want to be done with RTK. I've thought of stepping up my efforts to 100+ a day and just getting it done, but reviewing 100 new in Anki at one time just sounds like murder. Not sure what to do >.>

So! I've just passed the 3/4 mark!
It's interesting how hard I have to work on some groups of kanji, while others I can memorize almost without any effort...
My plan is to post in the "Please congratulate me"-thread by end of september, but I'll be on vacation for a weak, next weak. When I come back I expect to be welcomed by a huge pile of review cards... Let's see how that works out!
Anyway, I'm quite proud to have made it this far! Now onto the rest - how hard can it be...

Made it to exactly 1531 today, and looking back at it. I actually never thought I would reach from the half way mark to here.
Congratulations to everyone who has made it this far, you should be proud of yourselves for putting in this much effort to finishing up the book.

I shall reach 1550 tonight. Geesh... I feel pretty much like I did on the half mark. It's not getting easier, but I learn faster (if you see what I mean). I want it to be over with, even though it's still fun. It still beats the two years predicted by the academic method (learn everything at the same time doing only kanji).
Congratulations everyone, hang in there.
Almost there...

It feels like it's only a week since I posted on 1000 kanji mark thread but it actually is 3-4 weeks! It's a great feeling to be here, congratulations to all! This is the last stage before we "graduate". Even though the reviewing of kanjis do go on, we will slowly move on to other places. This has been a great site so far!
I've been able to keep up with the 25 new kanji per day. According to my Anki statistics, there have been 3 days that I've failed to add new kanjis on but I've been able to mend it later on. Also my reviews per day has increased to over 100 per day which is a little alarming. Fortunately I'm so close to the end that I should be able to make it to the haven before my ship sinks.
So the final countdown has started! 498 new kanji left! with my speed, the big day for me will be 15th October!

Finished on frame 1586 today. Had a goal of finishing the book by the end of October but I don't think that's going to happen now! Reviews are getting big.
Can't wait to start learning real Japanese, shouldn't be too long now.
Thanks again to everyone who shared their stories.

Congrates to the 8 people above me for reaching this amazing position in your 日本語 journey. I will warn you, the next 500ish kanji will be the most difficult but they will be the most rewarding kanji because once your done with them your done RTK!
Good Luck.

HA!!!
Made it to frame 1531 plus a few from RTK3. Total count 1541.
Feels great, but the last 200 were really tough. Sometimes it's hard to come up with a good story.
Also I noticed that when I'm tired I'm having a hard time to remember the initial connection to the story. I didn't have much sleep lately ( 20 month old kid), so this really didn't help. When I am fresh and rested things are much easier.
I'll take it slow for the rest of the trip, maybe spend some time to go back and work on similar keywords to help keeping them apart.
I plan to finish in a month. See you at the finish line.

1555, finally. It's all downhill from here, right? I'm ashamed to admit I really slacked off for about a month after hitting 1200 or so right after I came to Japan. I didn't add any new cards and only did reviews like twice a week, now I finally got my shit back together. I should be done in exactly two weeks if I stick to 35/day. So close.

On about frame 1550 of my second full run of RTK1. Been going good with a little over 100 kanji a day.
