I hope it is ok to start a new thread, I didn't know where to post this problem.

I want to watch the anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes and the subtitles has fortunately been uploaded to kitsunekko.
However, I noticed that each subtitle file includes four episodes, so I don't know how can I use them with the correct timing.

Is there any way to split the file creating one for each episode and at the same time keeping the correct timing?
Or there are perhaps other solutions?

It shouldn't be too hard. The .srt files open in Notepad so just open Notepad, copy/paste the subs for each episode and save as "Legend of the Galactic Heroes_ep1.srt" until you reach the X amount of episodes needed.

Great video Kida400061. I just took a look at one of the .srt files and the video you linked will definitely help OP. My advice was strictly splitting the subs so OP just needs to combine methods.

@OP: I did a google search for ep 1 and it is 24:01 long. Which means the subs for ep 2 should be soon after that.  You will have to watch the beginnings and endings of each episode to make sure where each sub file starts and ends for the ones you need to create/split. Hope this helps.

EDIT: I searched up to ep 5 and the trend is that each episode is roughly 24 minutes. So ep 1 will end at 24 minutes, ep 2 at 48, etc. Again, I still recommend watching the beginnings and endings of every episode as subtitles are timed to the millisecond. You don't want to accidentally add the first line of ep 2 as the last line of ep 1 or vice versa.

In either AegisSub (which I use for .ass) or Subtitle Edit (which I use for .srt) it's easy cut/paste lines or group of lines. Like, remove the unwanted lines, reset the time for all lines by - 24/48/etc, save as, and you're good to go.

Aegisub can open both .ass and .srt file types. As Eratik suggested, just remove the unwanted lines, and shift or adjust the timestamps according to the video (per episode) files you have at your end.
