What is RtK ????

The first link is interesting for new RtK learners who already have some proficiency in speaking or reading Japanese.

The second link is a discussion on a project for a list of Japanese keywords, something newcomers to RtK don't need to worry about imho.
Thanks, I forgot to include the descriptions for the links. Smile

What is The Remembering The Kanji?

A system. The Rembering The Kanji is a mnemonic and image-imaginative memory system, built so that the kanji can be kept under control in order to change a human being into this.

What? Just the learner's edition? I'd prefer to turn into the full Halpern dictionary instead.

Congrats, lazar. Enjoy! It's nice to see this site leading to another book purchase! Enjoy that pretty book! It'll be dog-eared and ragged before you know it! My book certainly looks "loved" after 1272 kanji, haha.

Haha yep. Mine looks like I drag it by a string everywhere I go, and I take great care of my books.

hehe thanks shibo ;P not only did it lead to a book purchase (well if it wasnt for all japanese all the time I would never have found it), but the kanji poster's on its way.... I'm planning on learning all the kanji in RTK1 in the next few months, definitely before my second year Japanese course, and the learning gap between the Kanji students and myself will be gone Big Grin

Ok, now that I'm at frame 94... I'm wondering how exactly to use review, do I do it once and only once daily? and what about the failed kanji?

Under the graphs it will have a link that says "Review all expired cards (XXX)". You just click on that and then review all of the cards that have expired. You should do this every day, and then more cards will be expired the next day.

For failed cards, you can click on the red stack and then just go over each one, and once you think you have learned them, press the learned button for each kanji. I usually leave my failed cards until the day after I failed them, and then I always go through them before I start reviewing my expired cards.

It may be that you just dont have any expired cards yet.
After you add cards and then review them the first time, those cards will expire for the first time 3 days later.

Never click the green graphs to review. Those are unexpired cards.

And if you keep on clicking those unexpired green cards, they will never expire, thus rendering the whole SRS system kanji.koohii.com is based on useless.

HAHA crap :|:| , I've been doing that this entire time........... is there instructions somewhere on this site on how to properly work with the book/site? I may have overlooked it earlier then :S but my review section still doesnt allow me to work with "expired" cards

You might find some answers in the "Learn More" tab. When you have expired cards, they'll show up.
