For 差, I prefer the top method, and I did this even during RTK.

I like these abbreviations. They're simple and don't mess up the whole character like modern handwriting appears to do.

The stroke order it pretty much the same, with or without abbreviation. Does it trouble you? I find it much more annoying as a developer since users sometimes want an absolute "standard", which there isn't.

In Taiwan, for 橄, 差 and 誕, they teach the bottom ones in your image. You can check the stroke order in this website made by the Taiwan's Ministry of Education:

It doesn't mean that they are the "only correct ones ever"; it means that they were standardized by the government and are the ones taught in their schools.
