Turns out ... quite well, thank you!

Let's back up.

Most everyone here who has played around with Kanji is aware of the wonderful Stroke-Order font put together by nihilistorguk. ( http://sites.google.com/site/nihilistorguk/ )

It was made specifically for Kanji, but since Kanji is largely derived from Hanzi I knew it would handle a bunch of'em. I ran a quick comparison test.

First off, I didn't even bother checking it against SIMPLIFIED Hanzi; that was (obviously) developed long after Kanji was pretty much codified. I checked it against all 1,500 of the Heisig/Richardson TRADITIONAL Hanzi from RTH-1.

The results?

I found (10) Trads that rendered, but deviated a bit from RTH-1. There were actually more that deviated, but I didn't fret about small stylistic things. Even so, the ten I pulled are not that drastically bad -- just enough to provide a few headaches:

Other than just worrying about characters that have different forms or aren't present, many hanzi also have different stroke orders than the corresponding kanji.

There are also differences between TC and SC, because Hanzi are traditionally written vertically and the PRC government adapted the stroke order for horizontal writing direction.
