RTK1 Corrections with Explanation [looking for]

#1
This might be covered elsewhere or in another thread, if so, please let me know.

In the PDF file RK1-cumulative-errata-pre-6th-edition.pdf, that supposedly lists all corrections for RTK1 pre 6th edition, the errors are marked red but not corrected. I’m going through my 5th edition error by error. Some of them I find rather hard to comprehend.

For example the Kanji #1480 for sated is marked red but the correct Kanji is not shown. When I look at the up-to-date iPhone/iPad app of RTK, the identical Kanji is still listed for #1480/sated:

1. What does this mean?

2. Is there a clear explanation with correction for all errors? Where should I ask about them?

3. Does that PDF really list all errors?

Thank you very much!

Rob

Hmm, I'm not sure what the problem is, can't you just look up the kanji to check it?
I looked up a few vocab words that use 飽

飽きる 【あきる】 (v1) to get tired of, to lose interest in, to have enough, (P)

飽食 【ほうしょく】 (n) gluttony, satiation, engorgement, (P)

飽和 【ほうわ】 (n) saturation, (P)

You can see "sated" is a decent definition. The first word 飽きる is very common.

Hi Rob,

I can confirm that sated is still 飽 in the 6th edition: http://kanji.koohii.com/study/kanji/%E9%A3%BD

My guess, since you mention you have the 5th edition, is that there was an error in a previous edition to yours regarding this kanji (for example, 4th edition) as you mention the document is called "cumulative-errata". Therefore perhaps not every entry in there pertains to your edition.

Ah, thanks everybody. So the PDF always lists the corrected content in red, not the uncorrected as I thought.

The 5th has almost no errors.
