I'd like to know what the meaning of から is in the following context (this comes from my Genki textbook):

後はぼくが片付けるから。

I thought から meant "because" or "since" but it doesn't make any sense to me in this phrase.

The full conversation is:

店長：今日はジョンのおかげで、助かったよ。
ジョン：いいえ。でも本当に忙しかったですね。
店長：あしたは学校があるんだろう。アルバイトをしながら学校に行くのは大変だね。
ジョン：ええ、時々、遅刻しちゃうんですよ。
店長：ぼくも学校の時はよく授業をサボったよ。もっと勉強すればよかったなあ。後はぼくが片付けるから。
ジョン：じゃあ、お先に失礼します。お疲れさまでした。
店長：お疲れさま。

It still the same "because" meaning, but the speaker omits part of the sentence, because what he means is clear from the context.
(You can go now), because I will finish cleaning (the shop) by myself afterwards.

I can see it now. I was confused because all the から examples I've seen in the book (so far) have always been full sentences.

They do explain this way of using から somewhere in Book 1!

Just to reassure you here, the sentence in isolation is not at all clear.

It becomes clear in the flow of the conversation after the boss says he had skipped class a lot and wishes he hadn't.
