I mean the language forum.

The new forum with old members (Iversen, Serpent, emk, etc) here:

Nooooo! I never posted there, but the posts were a goldmine of language learning info.

Judging from the discussion, it seems one or more members are prepared to buy the domain name at auction if the absentee admin doesn't resurface. (Maybe he's hanging out with Khatzumoto...) And it sounds like several members have backed up the site, at least as HTML page dumps.

That would be a real shame if it doesn't come back pretty much the way it was before. Although it sounds like the majors are interested in keeping it alive. Fingers crossed.

Damn I wish it didn't come back. The website loads so slowly and I've never been able to register because of how horribly it's coded. It just breaks. I was hoping maybe they would start a new site, but I guess they'll continue to use the old shit one.

I know that sounds a bit negative, but I kind of agree.

There's a lot of really good stuff on there, if only you can get it to load. More often than not the whole site would just time out leaving me with nothing but a blank page. I never tried to register, so I can't comment on that, but sometimes reading the forums was a trial of frustration.

That's odd. I've never had a problem with pages loading. However it was obvious that the forum software was pretty dated and could really use an update. From what I was reading a few days ago, it sounded like people were trying to push for improvements and/or take over the site from the absentee owner. For me, I would hope it stays at the old domain with new software (and possibly new hosting if people are having troubles loading). Hopefully some of the more active admins will have more control over keeping the site up to date.
