Maybe I'm looking in the wrong dictionaries but I can't find a definition for the compound 休液. This is in a short story I'm reading. Maybe from the context, and the basic meanings, it means fluid flowing at a leisurely pace. The sentence is:
。。。どろりとした休液のようなものをぽとぽとと床に落としたり。。。
Thanks.

"休液" doesn't show up in either the Daijirin or Daijisen dictionaries. My guess is that it's supposed to be 体液 (たいえき) - bodily fluid, and in fact when I replace 休液 in the quote you provide with 体液, it turns up a few hits in Google.

I agree -- it's either a typo or maybe if this is a print book, the line on the 体 is faded or not printed well.

Sorry, you're right, I went back and checked and it's 体. I didn't notice the horizontal line. Thanks.
