I have come across a number of primitives that don't seem to match up with other renderings of the same kanji. I check stroke orders on Yamasa, and the RtK pictures seem incorrect. Off the top of my head, the claw primitive sometimes shows up as evening, and the enter primitive shows up as wind. The comments in the study section make me think they show up properly for most people using RtK.

Could anybody offer some insight on this matter? I first noticed discrepancies early on, but they were merely stylistic differences of the same primitives. Now there are different primitives entirely.

If you are using google chrome, and are outside Japan, it will default to displaying Chinese characters, unless the website has used a specifically Japanese font or something. So that could be it. If not, hopefully someone else more wise than me will be along shortly

Can you provide a specific example? It's almost certainly a font difference.

Lead (metal) appears as 鉛, but in the dictionary (and other users' feedback) the gully primitive is described as being made up of 'enter' and 'mouth'.

Leader appears as 将, when the dictionary, and other users, describe the claw primitive being used in stead of evening

Some differences I could write off easily, but these examples render them as wholly different characters...
