Not Sure if I Mistakenly Rented CDs at Tsutaya

#1
Hi, guys. I'm a non-Japanese currently on vacation in Osaka. Just about now (it's around 2 AM, actually), I noticed that 5 of the 7 CDs I acquired from Tsutaya Ebisubashi for 300 yen each actually have inconspicuous "rental CD" stickers.

Added info: they have "USED" labels on them.
Edit: Also, I read from this thread (http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=8851) that you can't rent CDs if you're a visitor. I guess this is a signal that I didn't just rent out CDs, but I could be wrong.

Some background: A while ago at Tsutaya Ebisubashi, I looked for music CDs at the used CDs section, only to immediately return some that had rental CD stickers. To be sure that the ones I still have on hand aren't for rental, I asked the person at the counter before paying using a combination of Japanese and English keywords (I can barely speak Japanese). He pointed to two CDs and said something along the lines of "these for rent." I asked, "everything else, I can buy?" I believe he said yes, while pointing out the rest have "USED" labels on them. I then returned the two rental CDs he pointed out and bought the rest.

I'll go back to Tsutaya Ebisubashi tomorrow to ask about the confusion. Would you guys know how I can easily communicate it with basic, short Japanese phrases? Also, would anyone here have knowledge on CDs being sold at Tsutaya? Perhaps, those CDs I got *used to be* rental CDs, but are now being sold.

Thanks!

P.S. In retrospect, the two CDs he was pointing out could just have been his examples of rental CDs, which is a mistake on my part.

Did they require any sort of identification, contact info, or membership?
If you just went to the register, paid money, and that was it, I'm pretty sure you just bought them. I mean, I've never known of a rental shop anywhere in the world that would rent something out without knowing who they rented it to.

No, they did not require anything, apart from money, that is. Right... they do not even know me. -_- Just got extra worried there. I'll check back on the store just to be sure, but I'm at least relieved now that I most likely did not incorrectly spend my money. Thank you!

Yea, they probably just used to be rentals, and they are getting rid of them to make room for new stuff.

And there probably was a sign that mentioned that... in Japanese; I better step up my Japanese. Thanks again!

Another quick check is whether the CDs came in a blue cloth bag. In every Tsutaya I've seen every rental comes in a blue cloth bag.

To rent things at Tsutaya you need to make a membership card, which costs like 300 yen. You bought the CDs, methinks.

The first thing they ask you for when you rent something is your T Point card. The second thing is, they'd put the CDs in a black or blue cloth bag with a receipt that has a big return date on it usually a week from the day you got them.

I've confirmed that the CDs are, in fact, for sale. Most of the music CDs (I'd give a rough estimate of 95%) at the 5th floor are being sold for around 300 yen. They used to be for rent.

Thanks for the replies!
