Old Anki Core 2000 / 6000 Decks

#1
Hey there, does anyone have any local copies stored of the Core 2000 / 6000 decks? I need the Core 6000 Step 11 and onwards decks, to be specific. The old ones have been completely removed from the Shared decks catalogue.

https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1213240153

^ the current deck does NOT show cards in the same order that it did before; it shows you ALL the listen side cards first by default, and not a mixture of both the listening/reading sides of both the sentence and vocabulary cards.

The uploader said to "let him know" if there is a fixed version, but I'm not even entirely sure who the uploader is nor how to contact him. The long review post on that page is made by myself in hopes that it would be noticed but it seems not.

I hope someone can at least push me in thie right direction.

edit: I assume the uploader of the deck is Nukemarine. I sent him the following message, with a better explanation of what's wrong with the current deck.

Quote:Hey! Sorry to bother you, I wasn't sure where else I could ask you about this but I'm pretty sure you are the uploader of the new Core2k/6k deck, right?

If so, are you able to help me? I got up to 6K Step 10 before I noticed the decks were taken down from AnkiWeb, and I was relieved to find the new compilation. However, the deck shows cards in a manner MUCH different from the old one. Anki shows cards in the order that they're added (created), and the added order makes it so I ONLY get vocabulary cards on the LISTENING side until I study all 6000. It then shows PRODUCTION, then READING cards, and repeats this for the sentences. Basically, this is the study order currently:

vocab (listening) > vocab (production) > vocab (reading) > sentences (listening) > sentences (production) > sentences (reading)

The CREATED order lists the cards by their Index number. This is useful for deleting the cards that I've studied, but the order that they're added in simply shows cards in the above pattern which isn't anywhere near as optimal as it was before... I managed to delete all the cards that I already studied, but that didn't change anything.

Could you upload a fixed version of the deck? Or if it would be easier, provide us with the old decks? I haven't actually studied any new Japanese recently, since I'm pretty busy and Anki is the most convnient way for me to get my daily dose of japanese studies.

Hope to hear from you!
EDIT 2:

http://puu.sh/he7qg/ec4de4d1f2.apkg

These are all the decks that I have, which are:

Core 2000 Step 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10 (missing the first one)
Core 6000 Step 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10

I removed all media; you can downloaded these yourself from Nukemarine's thread.

IMPORTANT: the supplementary vocabulary cards were removed from the 6000 decks. These were the cards that would be shown after you study ALL the sentences, and not the vocabulary cards that are shown IN-BETWEEN sentences.

The deleted cards were the OTHER vocabulary words which appeared alongside a NEW vocab/sentence card. I believe most of these actually show up in Steps before and after, hence I deleted them so I could go through as many sentences as possible without focusing too much on singular vocabulary cards.

If you have any of the missing decks, please post them here as the community needs them urgently!

We really need to have a repository for anki decks that aren't shared anymore. Has anyone set this up yet? It kinda sucks that no one ever knows where to find the decks that they need now.

Would Mega links in the wiki be good enough?

That sounds like a good enough idea. As long as at least one person keeps a personal archive of them, they could be restored if mega goes down.

Not quite, but it's close...

The cards in this are sorted by optimized order, not the same order as the original Core 6000 Step decks. I studied up to index 4980 original decks and simply want to continue from there, but it's not possible with that deck.

Sometime last year I believe I dowloaded the Core6000 deck. Didn't use it though. If I still have it I'll try to upload it to the a n k i site.

I have my old copy, but I deleted all the cards for words I knew, so I think it would be fairly useless to most people.
I did find a version of them posted on Reddit, that you might have luck with:

That's too bad, I actually deleted a lot of cards from mine too although they were the additional vocabulary cards which were used on the sentence cards. I'll upload mine and edit my initial post to help everyone else out.

No luck here. This one is also the Optimized version, which is sorted in a different order from the ones that were previously uploaded.

What about if you sort it by the CoreIndex field?

I've tried that. Even though there's both the Core Index and Optimised Index in the 10k deck, the Core Index is somehow completely different from the original Step series as you go further into the deck.

I checked my laptop and I have a deck called "Core 2K/6K Optiminzed Japanese Vocabulary" with 6,377 cards. I downloaded this from anki last year. Is that the one you're looking for?

ayafuyaroketto, going from your edits you have made some progress.

I guess for your remaining cards, you have the required Card Types (Listening, Reading, et al.) but the order is not as expected? I GUESS you want the cards to go

Word 'X'-- Reading, Listening, then Production (or some other order)
then
Word 'Y' -- Reading, Listening, then Production

If so, you can fix this using the 'Reposition' function within the card browser:

SYNC FIRST!!!!

1. Restrict the shown cards to only unseen cards from your first Card Type (Reading?).
* Search for something like: deck:"deck:Japanese Core 6000 Vocab and Sentences ALL STEPS" Card:Reading -is:review
2. Select all the cards shown
3. Choose Reposition (File -> Reposition)
4. Choose Start Position "1" and for Steps "3"

Now repeat steps 1-3 for the next Card type (Production or Listening). Choose start position '2' and steps '3'
Then once more for the last card type, using start position '3' and steps '3'

This should result in the following order:
Due: 1 -- "X" Reading Card
Due: 2 -- "X" Listening Card
Due: 3 -- "X" Production Card
Due: 4 -- "X" Reading Card
Due: 5 -- "X" Listening Card
Due: 6 -- "X" Production Card

Hope that helps.

Hello fellow Japanese learners,

I stumbled over this thread, because I was searching for the core decks.

@ayafuyaroketto
I'd like to get the media files for your core 6k decks. Which one is nukemarine's thread you are referring to, could you link it to your post?
The missing step 01 of core 2000 can be found in the following thread on reddit, along with the other steps and an optimized 6k-deck:
http://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/co...ilable_on/
however, I am not sure if it is the correct 6k-deck you are looking for.

I was really shocked to see that the decks were gone. I recently started using them in a strongly customized way and did not import all of them from ankiweb in the beginning. I am now keeping a backup on 2 hard drives and one on google drive...

Did someone get lucky to find the original steps and not optimized order decks?

I think this was the source of the optimized decks, but it includes the smart.fm indices, so you can sort it into the original order if you want.

I'm the person that reuploaded the core 6000 deck. I created it from the spreadsheets in nukemarine's post:

http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=5110

Anybody can recreate the decks from those spreadsheets. I did it for my own personal use and figured I would share it since the decks were missing.

The reason Anki is showing you the listen cards first is because it bury's related new cards. If you uncheck "bury related new cards" in the deck options then it will show you all the cards from a note in the same day. Otherwise you have to wait one day for the cards to unbury.
