Hi

I'm working my way through the graded readers by tadoku.org and ASK Books ( http://tadoku.org/learners/book_ja and http://www.ask-books.com/tadoku/jp/ ). I'm currently doing level 4 and there isn't any booklets at level 5 (or rather, there is only 1). Is there anyone who has experience with these series and who can point to any other reading material, that would be equal to level 4 / 5 within the grading system?

In general i find extensive reading to be quite nice and i would like to continue - but i would just like to avoid buying a lot of books, that wouldn't fit my level

There are literally hundreds of short stories here, mostly aimed at children. But a lot of them are still pretty dark, dealing with ghosts and murder and stuff.

Is it still there for you? I noticed a couple days ago that I get an 'address not found' error as if the site's domain name had gone away.

I'm not sure about the grading levels you're talking about or what they mean, but I've read a lot of children's books that I would assume are towards that level. I highly recommend the ふたごの魔法使い series as the easiest enjoyable series I know - it's aimed at lower grade primary school kids, but it's fun (and sometimes dark and sometimes weird). There are 13 books in the series and I think reading it is one of the most useful things I did for my Japanese.

As far as easy Children's books go roughly the same level as 福娘 I recommend The Magic Tree house series.
