Kanji in Context, a set of books we know and love, was updated in December 2013 by Japan Times.
It was updated for the recent set of 2,136.
The original book was released in 1994. So I guess Japan Times must have believed in the series enough to update it.
Japan Times updated the reference book and both workbooks.
