I'm 26... been studying for a bit over 2 years. I guess i started late! Had zero interest in Japan before i started working for a Japanese company.

I,am 21 turning 22 in October. Long Story short I grew up On Anime mostly Toonami the Good old days when I actually watched TV. I always wanted to Learn Japanese because I was always fascinated by Japan's culture and how cool their media is compared to the rest of the world. I have been studying Japanese on and off for 3 years now mostly through Anime, Music and Movies picked up a lot of things from that But I decided last year to study for real meaning getting into Kanji and learning the grammar and everything else that is needed to get to a good solid level In Japanese. Currently on frame 385 of RTK. At first I did not think RTK would work for me at all but now I can actually recall the Kanji and when I see them in anything I actually can recognize them it's crazy I never thought that could happen to me. I do plan on studying grammar for a bit starting next month as well as continue RTK at the same time I,ll have to balance my time though I don't know how I,am going to do it just yet. I have interests in other Languages as well I,am brushing up on my Spanish as well (I,am Hispanic I need to know my mother tongue lol.) I,am low-intermediate in that language though I just need to fix my speaking and maybe writing a bit I can understand and read pretty well. A lot of people used to call me a wannabe Japanese though or a Weeaboo for short but, now I don't even think I can fit in that category anymore I,am actually learning this stuff now putting time and money into it I take these studies very seriously now. My goal is to be Low-Intermediate in Japanese by Next Winter January-February 2012 i,am going to do all I can to get their.

I just turned 26 5 days ago. I'm official old (by my standards).

I finished RTK about 6 months ago? I can't really remember because it feels like I've been doing it my whole life (1 year and a half tops). I f-ing hate RTK reviews

Old-ness is such a mentality. Look at how immature I am. I'm practically an immature 5-year old.

I've been to Japan twice. Have always loved Japanese stuff but didn't get serious until a friend in college taught himself Japanese in 18 months and got hired to work in Tokyo. Pretty much stopped taking classes at that point and kinda doing what he did and I've learned tons since. Japan is an awesome place to visit. If anyone goes, make sure to snag a train pass and see as many cities as you can. I've actually been to way more cities than almost all of the Japanese friends I have (as well as the friend who moved there ).

24 in June this year. Ugh... 6 years out of high school and I've accomplished nothing

Started learning hiragana/katakana near the end of 2008, think I picked up RtK in Feb. 2009 maybe? Finished in Dec. 2009 (yes, I suck). Since I've finished RtK I lost some interest in doing JP for a few months. I only have about 900 vocab words and 400ish sentences from ko2001 in Anki.

I lose motivation easily, but my first trip to Asia last week really ignited that JP learning spark in me again! Been adding things like crazy since I got back and have been having a blast with it!

it is gramattically correct, but reading it made me think the person who wrote it might have been french, or some other language that uses that kind of expression. Normally it'd be "how old are you?", i think...

Actually I encounter all kinds of peculiarities on this forum quite often. In case of which I check the person's country, just to be sure.
