I don't really remember if I have already answered to this thread but here goes!
I'm 23.
Have been studying Japanese for almost five years, completed the RTK last summer and now I'm doing the sentences and trying out the iKnow courses.
Still starting out! ^^

Wow I'm totally jealous of all the younger people learning Japanese. Great to see people motivated at that young age. This self study will help them tremendously when it comes to deciding what they want to do in further education.

I'm 23, which isn't so old, but not as young as 15!

Is unfortunately getting in the way of Japanese. I'm trying to finish Heisig as the semester ends, so I can get a nice month of uninterrupted 日本語勉強 over the break.

27. I feel so old saying that Smile...
Started RTK three and a half months ago and I'm at 1183 now. Plan to finish all the rest in the next three weeks, and am taking a nine day holiday from work to do so...

Although I dabbled a little and did a two-term course at uni 8 years ago, I really only started learning japanese four or five months ago - and most of that has been kanji. The real motivation was moving to Tokyo, where I've been for two and a half months now. It feels so good to be recognising more signs, more words, more kanji everyday. Just figuring out the remote control for the aircon has been a challenge. Not to mention the controls for the toilet!

This site has been a great encouragement and resource, and I really doubt whether I'd have kept going this long without it. I can't wait to start putting sentences into SRS...

so true.
In my I will be getting more than 5 months of school, nagging, exams and anxiety.
Which also means that I have no more excuses in putting off learning more kanji.

24... Man I wish I would've started when I was 15. Started and then restarted RTK. At 1300 this time. Hoping to finish in time for Christmas.

I'm 23 and have been doing the Heisig method for about 4 months now and on frame 1510, although i have taken a few brakes and I've seen this very detrimental to my retention forgot many that i new really well : /

But now I'm back into the full swing of things and re-learning the ones I've forgot and pushing to finish, I intend to become fluent after many years of wanting this but not actually putting the effort in.
