Hi, I was wondering if anyone has taken the JLPT and gotten any college credit for the test. I'm a 3rd year Japanese major at the University of Maryland but since I skipped 200 level Japanese at my school I need 12 credits of Japanese from somewhere. It'd be great if the JLPT could help me out even a little. I guess another option would be study abroad but I've already done that, and I don't want to delay my graduation anymore.

I've never heard of a school giving credit for existing language ability. What usually happens is they just let you skip the courses that are too easy for you (based on an evaluation), without getting credit for them. At my school those courses would be listed on your transcript as NTD (not to do).

It also may or may not be worth noting, but my university is also a JLPT testing site.

I know some universities will let you "test out" of some classes. For example, maybe you could take a test for a 200 level Japanese class, and if you pass, get credit for that class and the ones below it.
