This is a long shot, but I've been trying to look for a specific edition of this dictionary "チャレンジ小学国語辞典". The ISBN is 9784828866512. According to its info, it was published at the start of this year.

Now, my issue is that wherever I look, I get the feeling like this edition has gone out of print. On the other hand, an older publication (ISBN 9784828865157) of this series is still selling.

Again this is a long shot, but I'm just wondering if anyone might know why this newer version is so scarce. Is it even worth trying to find a copy of the newer edition?

The older one (seven bears dancing) and the newer one (five bears dancing) both say 5th Edition on the front and the descriptions both say 1,373 pages so there's probably little difference.

Japan is notorious for limited edition stuff. The pink version was clearly, based on the cost of the used copies, just some kind of promotional item. (ie. 限定版) The only difference is the pink cover.
