I started learning kanji on June 8th with the same goal- to finish RTK before school started again (also Sept. 2nd). School was still in session when I began studying kanji, but with the teacher strike going on where I live, I had no issues finding time. As of now, I am at around ~1300 kanji characters.
I hope that you're doing well and that you reach your goal! It's been a little while since you posted, but I wish you the best of luck on your (probably in-progress) journey to completing RTK 1! n.n

Nice to meet you Murtada. I have "school" start early september too. I'm hoping to make some good progress by then. But I also work full time (my class is a once-a-week night class). I have a trip to Japan in late November thru early December. I'm hoping to get most of them done by then.
After having Kanji be so hard to learn for so long, I'm having trouble believeing that even this pace is possible. But there are so many inspiring stories online about this method, maybe I'll be able to even learn them all before my trip!
