I was really impressed by this plugin that allows you to use cloze delete with furigana/kanji manually in the editor. Being lazy, I'd rather just run it over a pre-made deck and get the computer to pull out the Kanji and furigana for me so I wrote this small script and ran it over this Core 10k deck
The script keeps track of the kanji/readings already encountered and removes the furigana or skips the card totally if there are no new readings. I'm really enjoying this and feel a huge increase in my kanji writing ability.
