I'm near the 1000 kanji in RtK vol. 1 and I'm starting to investigate the usefulness of RtK vol. 2. So I found the "kanji chains" method in this forum, and it seems ok at least to give a try. The problem for me it is you must use the english keywords to build the chain, and I don't think it will work for me in the long run, because of those similar or abstract keywords. So I was thinking how you deal with keywords like "method" and "technique". Can you kindly do an example for me with the reading ゲイ with the keywords "technique", "welcome" and "whale"? Doesn't it become too complicate for readings with a huge number of kanji, and keywords thereof? How do you avoid to confuse some of those keywords? Thank you very much and sorry if I am asking too much help from you!
Also, how I'm supposed to use RtK vol. 2 if I decide to use it? It's like learning new vocabulary with the difference that I study it in a specific order, that is by on yomi.
PS: I've read various objections to RtK vol. 2, some of them I could agree with, but here I'm only interested in the "how" and not in the "why/why not"
