Book with vocabulary and texts (no english)?

#1
Did anyone knows a japanese book (with no english) with vocabulary and than small text/sentences with it. Or a reader with small texts with furigana and vocabulary explained with no english - vertical text is preferable Smile

I'm searching amason.co.jp but I do not know what to search exactly Smile

(My level is between n3-n4, end of Genki 2)

Seems to me like you're looking for....... a Japanese book? XD
If they are too difficult and you insist on reading Japanese-only material, then I guess there's only one option: books aimed at children/teenagers.

I think you're only losing from not looking at any translation though. Why not buy a Japanese and the English (Bulgarian?) edition to read along with? Or one of those English-Japanese readers...

Seems kinda cool. I've been looking for vocab sources in that format (vocab word + example sentence + example sentence audio), but all I could find before was Obunsha's N2-N1 vocab series. I wonder how easy the advanced book in this series would be to mine?

This is interesting, but I see that next to the english translation there is korean and chinese which can be quite confusing/distracting/missleading, especially the chinese

...!?
At some point you'll have to stop looking for the perfect learning material. I'm sure the Chinese won't be a problem, maybe it's going to be slightly confusing at first, but you'd get used to ignoring it. Geez, people used to learn Japanese with far less than we have. You don't need a Japanese-only book written in vertical text with furigana and explanations of difficult words. The only requirement is that YOU put effort into your studies.

I don't even understand what you mean. You would seriously not buy a textbook because it also has Chinese translations in there??

I don't think you are ever going to find anything quite for your tastes.

Sure I will not buy it...I have quite strong visual memory and the fact that I will see irrelevant chinese character next to the japanese will interfere 100%

The books actually come with a transparent red plastic sheet to screen the translations which are printed in red. This is an easy way to prevent seeing the translations you don't want to see. Before I was introduced to this idea, I just used a piece of card stock and cut a small piece off of it to help screen text I didn't want to see. I am not a bookseller and I will not personally profit in any way if anyone buys these books. I just think they are a very fun vocabulary learning tool if you like graded word lists with audio and example sentences.
