Woot! 500 frames. Of course, I only just reviewed the last batch for the first time, so I don't really know them all that well. I like to celebrate with as little effort as possible, so here I am!
Took me about 2 or 3 weeks to do this, but I have 8 hours to waste at work while the students are on spring vacation. Ah, being a JET. I'll probably be going a lot slower when I don't have so much time to waste.

I reached 500 as well, in about 3 weeks. I've done it pretty smoothly and now i've got just about 15 that i have have minor problems with. I've had some difficulties with the last 100, but now i've got them. As english is not my native language there's an extra effort to adapt Heisig's stories when he's using odd word plays.
I've been sparingly studying japanese for years and i think this method is incredibily effective yet simple, i've never thought i could memorize so many kanji in so little time.
Time to review!

I just hit 550 today! I have been hiding my stories and trying to recall the story by keyword so I have been failing cards when I can't recall the story, that has left me with around 130 reviews a day + 30 new cards a day. The past few days have been hell but today went pretty smooth. I hit 550 finished my reviews and was done.
Looking forward to my next goal, 1000.

I'm at 660 currently. It took me almost 2 months to get to 500, since I'm not going as fast. I was scared at first that adding more cards will soon become too much to handle, so I started with some 10 cards per day. However, my life is pretty hectic, so I find myself adding 40-50 kanji some days, when I have more time, or just reviewing on other days, when I have more kanji to review. Usually, I try to add at least 5 kanji per day. I'll finish this sooner or later!
P.S. This is my first post! Yeey! ^_^

I made it to 555 yesterday after about two months. I'm hoping to speed it up, but I'm glad to be at the part where Heisig stops giving you stories. I find it quicker to make my own or pick stories from this site, than to read his sometimes long-winded stories.

I just hit the 500 mark today. I think doing this book will be important for my long term success in Japan by helping me write and differentiate similar looking kanji. Thus I will push on to the end even though I don't particularly enjoy it and it doesn't help towards my 1 kyuu studies as much as many other things would.

550! It feels really good. I've only had a handful that I had real trouble with. The Japanese people in my conversation group find it odd that I know so many apparently "advanced" kanji, like 警, but I don't really know the readings yet. Good thing I gave up on the paper flashcards or it would have taken me forever. がんばって下さい!

Today!!!!
503 cards arrived at "Four or more reviews"
I haven't added many cards recently, but it works the steady and slow way for me.

Good job, you guys. Keep it up! For motivation, start picking up things around the house that might have these symbols on them, food, dvds, toys...
See how many you recognize!

Reached 514 today (yay =))
I always thought that dealing with the 漢字 without having Heisig's stories there to give me a head start will be very very hard and slow-going, but after reviewing the first 6 漢字 of part 3, I feel that when I come up with my own story (while it takes longer) I remember the 漢字 way better than with Heisig's stories (!)
Don't get me wring though, having the stories for the first 2 parts was extremely important. I wouldn't even get past lesson 2 without them.

Oh yeah, I'm over 500 too. yay. I still go through Heisig because when he introduces new "primitives" you need to know what they are, and it's not given on this site.

I just reached 500 today! This is my second time, though. About 10 years ago I made it as far as 656 before other parts of my life crowded in. But This time I am determined to finish the book. At 10 kanji per day, it will take me about half-a-year more. Finishing the book will be a great Christmas present to myself.

580 for me. It's been harder these last couple of weeks because of various other things in my life, but since I've at least kept up the reviews, everything is shifting into the last two boxes, so I can breathe much easier. I can't do more than about 25/day, so I probably won't finish until late July, but I definitely feel like I'm making progress. Don't know what I would do without this site. I was so depressed when it was down and I couldn't do my reviews.

I just hit the magic 500 milestone (and the end of lesson 19 and part 2 of RTK). I feel good being a quarter through the book in just over 3 weeks. I'm aiming to finish the entire book by 31st August, which I think will be easily manageable at this rate (barring any major setbacks).
Can't afford to take any breaks in my study. Even if I don't add any new kanji, I'll still review cards. I plan on doing that on my phone when I go on a trip during the summer.
