I agree that pokemon has a lot of good vocab, but I'm not playing it just yet due to some of the reasons others also cited- looking up every other word while playing is slow and frustrating.
however, I found some games more near my level while googling for kids games last night, ドラえもん:のび太の新魔界大冒険DS is a great one

the game is also partly voiced and has readings for most of the kanji in ( ) making the text easier to read than furigana.
It is pretty cool to be able to play a game fully at this level, so if anyone asks for game recommendations in the future you should point them to some doraemon games
