this has to do with the conjugations for each grammar point. so sometimes explanations like this will come up and i don't fully understand them:

conjugation: 名＋に対して
普通形 （ナ形(だ crossed out) な/である ・ 名(だ crossed out) な/である)＋の＋に対して
so my question is, what is the difference between the usage of the two conjugations for nouns. why/when do you sometimes just use 名＋に対して and other times 名な＋の＋に対して?
also, in regards to the 普通形 for verbs, am i correct in thinking that just means any casual conjugation of the verb? like you could use 食べた but not 食べました?
