These synonyms are killing me. Girlfriend can't even really explain this one, and she's Japanese. Then again she's fairly terrible at explaining pretty much everything.

移る・移す - Trans./Intrans.
動かす
移動する

What's the difference here? Thanks!

移る・移す I think a better word for this in English is "transfer". Emphasizes that something is moving from point A to point B. Like staff transferring to a different department for example.

動く・動かす emphasizes the motion of the movement itself, instead of the end result. eg. a car moving.

移動する is quite general, kind of encompasses the above two meanings.

Have to look at example sentences to really understand though.
