I am planning on attending Kansai College next October. I am not currently attending any schools in the States, where i currently live, Chicago, IL. I was wondering, does anyone know of any Scholarships or Grants I can apply for before I start school? The college has 3 of its own, but I cannot apply for those until 6 months after I start in October.

As an actual student.

Then your options are a little bit limited. MEXT would be your best bet, but I'm not sure if you can apply for it after you have started as an undergrad. I know you can apply as grad student after you have started. JASSO has a few scholarships that might be able to support you.

The options for financial assistance in Japan are very very limited.

Yeah financial aid is hard to find if your not currently in school in the States. I will check MEXT and JASSO out. Thanks for your help.
