Today learned:
−Rikai−sama recognize not only separate full width character, but combination ”ping”, ”MIS”, ”AD”, ”IT”, ”UN”, ”CT”, ”IO”.
−Rikai−sama not recognize lowercase s and m. Uppercase fine however.

Today I learned that Japanese word for curse has an alternate kanji that looks like a ghost with moustache. Why 咒 is not more popular remains a mistery.

I like this thread and I think it’s a good idea to encourage fixed width communication. Let me add by saying that I never studied fixed with and only learned through immersion.I think that the benefits of using a fixed with font are overlooked by most ordinary individuals. However, I digress, on to general discussion. I have been a longstanding lurker here and don't usually post on the account of not having much value to add and on the occasion that I have posted I usually end up doing so when I've taken to imbibing alcohol or such and should not have actually vomited my thoughts up onto the forum. I mainly only use the log in because it allows the saving of one's place in a long thread. It can be hard to find one's place in a multi-page thread when a few new pages have manifested in one's absence, thus being logged in allows one to go right to where one left off via the magic of cookies. Although I dislike how one is made to enter in one's credentials each and every time one pays a visit to these forums, it's the only forum... nay, website that acts in such a manner.

Well, I shall return to my studies, which include reading the reddit and the cracked and watching of the youtube. Fair thee well!

Full width make English fit Japanese sentence ”to match the space taken up by Chinese characters”.

Interesting. I had thought that full-width
text was used to make English letters easier
to differentiate for Japanese people.
But,then again,there are only 26 English
letters so I don’t see how that would be the
case.(This font style actually makes it more
difficult to read fluently and makes one’s
inner reading voice sound weird and detached.

However, it is very fun.

That does sound lame but not has lame as that I had to use a website to convert this into glorious fullwidth text for my Kung Fu is not strong enough. For shame, I will now commit sudoku to reclaim lost honor.

good luck! I decided against it because I’ve only done 2000 full width sentences in anki. So it’s FWCPT N3 for me. I even bought a special full width edition of kanzen master. The book is twice as wide as the kanzen JLPT books.
