body swap movies

#1
I have seen a lot of body swap films in America, or at least I've seen the ads: Freaky Friday and the like.
I am watching 転校生 now, an eighties movie where a girl and boy switch bodies. Has anyone else seen some shows or movies where this storytelling device is used? Thanks.

Hmm, あさっての方向 might count. They switch ages but not bodies, though part of the result is kind of similar to the kid not knowing how to do things as an adult and vice versa that Freaky Friday had. Slow, but nice series.

Also Kokoro Connect's first arc is all about examining body switching and the effects it has on the people who switch as well as their daily lives. I really liked it, but if you watch it, wait until episode 3 before passing judgement since ep 1-2 aren't that good.

The anime 'K' (sometimes called 'K Project) somewhat uses that as a plot device. It's a pretty good anime in general though I think, so I can definitely recommend it Big Grin

Nice. Thanks for the suggestions. I was worried this might be more relevant to the Avistas forums, but they're usually dormant.

...`While we're at it, may as well include time travel. This might be more fruitful. All I know is The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Time Machine Blues. I recommend both, although many have probably seen the first one more a few times.

Re: kokoro connect, thanks for the warning, bokusenou. Some series need one or two episodes to get into. 11人もいる was like that for me; very funny after episode one.

The drama パパとムスメの7日間 is (probably) based on Freaky Friday.

@tashippy Yeah, I actually dropped kokoro connect after ep 2 initially, but I heard great things about ep 3 so I picked it back up. ^^

As long as you are including time travel, I should mention Steins;Gate. BEST most well thought out time travel series I have ever seen. If you liked the focus on time travel and Makoto trying to fix the things which happened in previous time leaps in Girl who Leapt Through Time, or just like the concept of time travel, I highly recommend this series, and if you watch just one of my recommendations, make it this one.

There's 秘密(Himitsu), a 1999 movie where a mother and a daughter are involved in a vehicle accident. The mother dies but her spirit takes over the body of her daughter.
