john555 Wrote:Hi, another question: is there a way of putting a check box on the back of each card so I can check the box if I want to "mark" the card? Thanks.I don't know if it can be done if you're using the browser preview...
What about this:
1) you make a new filtered deck. It will show a window which asks you some settings;
2) on the "search" box you put something like this:
Quote:deck:core10k is:newor
Quote:note:Japanese is:newIn the first example your filtered deck will show you all the "new" cards which are contained in the deck "core10k".
In the second example your filtered deck will show you all the "new" cards which use the note type "Japanese".
3) on the "Limit" box you will put "9999";
4) on the "card selected by" menu, you will chose the order you want to see the card;
5) uncheck the "unscheduled" check-box, so you will turn-off the SRS part of Anki. In other words, after you study them, the card will still be "new" and you will have no reviews;
6) leave unchecked the "custom steps" check-box;
7) press "OK" and you will have your new filtered deck;
Now the actual study process:
8) select the filtered deck and press the "rebuild" and then "study now";
9a) you will see the first card. If you know it, you will press "@" on your keyboard. This way the known card will be suspended;
9b) if you don't know the card, you will simply press "good" or "easy".
10) after you finish with the deck, open the browser and write:
Quote:-isthis way you will see only the cards which are not suspended (the ones you don't know and you need to review).uspended
---
Another alternative is to press "good" or "easy" when you know a card, and the * key of your keyword when you don't know a card. This way you will mark only the cards that you don't know.
Then in the browser you will search:
Quote:tag:markedand it will show you only the marked cards.
If you want you can even do a second filtered deck to review only the cards you don't know (use "tag:marked" as a filter).
With a combination of those filtering options you can do things like:
suspend @ -> cards you know very well (browser filter "is
uspended");press good -> cards you know but you'll still want to review someday (browser filter: "-is
uspended -tag:marked");mark * -> cards you don't know and you need to review (browser filter: "tag:marked");
this way you have your personal SRS but you decide when you want to review and how much reviews to do

Hope I was clear in my explanation ._. xD
