Thanks SellingTokyo,
I haven't been able to do this yet. When I tried to apply it into the different field with the underscore dash as it recommends, it just wiped the kanji stroke order font from 'back' field, and it reverted to Mincheo, so that there were two of the same character in Mincheo (I had it set up before so that the Mincheo was above, and the KanjiStrokeOrder was below). I've corrected that using the original instructions you gave, and I'll try to have a go at this again because having the stroke orders is so useful, but I think that perhaps my level of computer competency is just too low!
PS. Is it possible to apply readings to these cards as well?
Thanks again!!

Did anyone knows if I have 2k/6k deck, and a list of vocabulary, how to make a separate new deck on base of this list exctracted from the core deck? (for example I want to make a deck on the base of a textbook which is spread among 6k core)

Quick question about manually reordering (advancing) core 10k anki deck.
I'm studying a Core10k anki deck and find it great with the audio, pictures, example sentences, etc. However, for my work I'm coming across a lot of unknown vocab, and I don't know when the 10k deck will reveal the vocab to me. Is there a way to search the deck, find the card with the vocab, and then set it to be studied for the next day (instead of some time in the future)? If I have 30 new cards to be learned each day, would it be possible to advance the position of 20 or so manually selected vocabulary words that would show up, and 10 determined by the deck properties (as normal)?

I recently went to Japan and back. Because of the time difference I altered the ‘start of next day’ setting in Anki. But now I’m stuck at 11 at night and if I move the setting backwards I get an extra day of review. Does anybody know how to get around this?

I started RTK on 21st Jan, and I've got 105 days to go until it's complete (2nd Aug is the day I'll finish.) I've kept a fairly consistent pattern, of doing 10 a day on weekdays, and 20 a day on weekends - although I often do 5 more than I should do to "bank up extras" in case I miss a day for whatever reason.
Anyway, all my flashcards are on Anki, and it works fine, except for one thing: new cards take an age to introduce. I add in all the cards on the day, and I use the reviews to learn them (it usually takes a couple of reviews for it to stick.) But even with my preferences set to "Show new cards before reviews", it introduces the new cards very gradually, to the point where a card that I added maybe a month ago might show up, and I have no idea.
I'm nearly at the half-way 1100 mark, so I can't contemplate switching to the koohii app now. Can anyone think of a workaround for this in Anki?

Are your reviews capped? Need to remove the cap if so.

Hi.
So I have this vocab deck that isn't tagged, and I'd like to know if there is a way to sort by note types (by that I mean by recognition and production). Deleting the field would be easy, but since it's a deck I can't redownload (and since in anki 2 you can't make copies of your decks), I'd like to save the cards and do mass suspension through browsing. The advanced browser add-on doesn't do that either as far as I'm aware. Does anyone has any experience with this?
Thank you very much in advance.

Clearly I spend too much time in the card browser!

Hey Forum
I have finally decided to merge my 5 decks into one deck.
I want the ONLY reviews to be randomized BUT the new cards to be in order. I tried using the subdecks but it shows reviews in order (alphabetical) only. How should I randomize my reviews?

Hello! I know this question have been asked a million times but...
I'm looking into what deck to use for studying vocabulary. Many of the recommended decks I've found the links have been broken. Right now just focusing on learning vocabulary, and not actually a whole lot of kanji (Finished and reviewing RTK1 though) as I think its more important to remember the words for now (Will be going to Japan shortly).
Of course I still try to learn the kanji for the words, but its not my main focus.
Could anyone link me a good deck to start out with? (So far I've studied random words I stumbled upon and is actively using Tae kim's grammar guide both for vocab and grammar)
Thanks!

I don't use ankidroid, but if you are syncing to desktop anki you can move specific cards to the front of the queue using 'reposition'. You could mark the cards you want to study immediately on ankidroid, then sync and search 'tag:marked" in the browser and 'reposition' them to the top.

I hope this is the right place for this, but I'm using the latest version of Anki on Mac, and... I've got a bit of a problem. Specifically, whenever I try and import content into an existing deck from a csv, it turns all the previous cards in the deck unseen, effectively erasing my study progress. Is there anything that could be causing this, or, better yet, anything at all I can do to preserve my progress with my existing cards?

I have added a new deck to Anki. I want to delete it...
But when I added it, it was named "Default", and sure enough it has seemingly become the default deck now so I can't delete it.
Please help me with this. I'm getting annoyed with all these weird and unexplainable problems with Anki.
Edit: I deleted the note type, and the deck was gone. I hate how unintuitive Anki is. I tried changing it's name (to fswfssgsg or something the like) and now that's been saved in my browse page... What the actual hell is going on.
I added this new deck again and tried changing the name to "fswfssgsg", but it says that it already exists a deck by that name(???), even though I don't see any deck by that name anywhere but in the Browser (where it's an empty deck).

You can't delete the default deck. Anki hides it if it's empty, but it'll still be there.

Can anyone tell me how to apply furigana across the board on Anki? I downloaded the Japanese support pack, or whatever it is, but I can't figure out how to apply it.
Thanks in advance,

you need to change your card formatting(browse > cards). Just add 'furigana:' before your field name.
(before): {{kanji}}
(after): {{furigana:kanji}}

Well, my main computer's a Mac, so that'd explain it. Still, when I tried with an old netbook I had lying around, I got the same results... I hate to keep bugging you all, but does anyone have any suggestions?
