I'm not sure if this belongs in the manga thread or not, so I'm going to put it here for now.
I work with a tutor on my business Japanese on a regular basis, and since I suck at keigo, she recommended that I look into this book:
ちびまる子ちゃんの敬語教室
http://www.amazon.co.jp/ちびまる子ちゃんの敬語教室-満点...083140380/
It's a manga approach to learning 敬語 for kids, based on the ちびまる子ちゃん series. It's well-presented, in that it's entertaining but not obnoxious (okay, the French kid talking all in katakana is kind of obnoxious, but think of it as practice.) The book has two proper authors-- the mangaka for the series (to keep it from being poisonously dull), and an author of a lot of books on 敬語 and 国語 (to keep it from being full of wrong stuff, I guess.)
If you like manga, can read at around N3 or so, and aren't too picky about the art, then I'd recommend it as a less painful way to work on 敬語.
Also, there are a ton of other books in this series that cover a bunch of different topics, including two books on ことわざ and two on 四字熟語. (I picked up those as well, to read after I finish the 敬語 book.) There's also a book on 慣用句 that I want to check out later on, when I finish this pile. (There's even a book on memorizing the 百人一首.)
