Cool, I actually have the first volume I was thinking about reading. I try not to use them too, but it will really speed up looking up words if I can just copy and paste also. Thanks for the find.

it seems like it's only partial translations but it will save me some time ... when I get motivated i put individual pages on to anki....the vocabulary is very difficult but when I watched the anime it was nice to understand a good portion of what was going on

right now im reading hikaru no go manga in japanese(i won the books) and use the scanlations to check

Anime Transcripts@wiki is a site where many Japanese anime fans learning English gather together.
The fans are dictating their favorite animes in English.
The purpose of this wiki is to make transcripts of some anime so that other fans can use them.
I'd be very happy if you visit this site and help us dictate these scripts in English.

I'd try to help but unfortunately I don't have any English dubbed anime at the moment. I'm sure if some of this forum's members transcribed some animes in English, we could request a transcription from a native Japanese. How much easier would it be for native speakers to do it rather than language learners!

Perhaps, Rei, you could give us a few requests as to what you would like to get done, I'm sure with such a lot of members here you may find one or two who own the DVD with an English track. If we had some definite suggestions as to what people want, it might inspire someone to do it.

These are the title of anime transcripts we have there in Japanese.
Death Note, FLCL, Lucky Star, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Our main activity is to make transcripts in English.
Now we are working with such titles as
Air, Azumanga Daioh, Code Geass, Death Note, Elfen Lied, FLCL,
Haibane Renmei, Lucky Star, Mobile Suit Gundam, Planetes,
Rozen Maiden, Strawberry Marshmallow, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya,
When They Cry.

As you see, the members are Japanese anime fans learning English, so there are more English transcripts than Japanese.

What we are eager most is to have these transcripts checked by some native speakers. We would appreciate very much if some of you would help us!

Though there are few Japanese transcripts yet, but if you request, I hope some volunteers will begin with Japanese transcripts, too.

No problem. I actually tried to type up a bit of Elfen Lied from an online video site, but then I accidentally lost it all when I bumped the back key or something.

Anyway, perhaps you are not aware, but there is a database of movie scripts in English that you might find useful. It's mostly Hollywood movies, but most Japanese DVDs come with dual audio, so it's a useful resource.

don't you think a person doing translations from japanese to english would GREATLY improve their speed and quality of translations by using rikaichan?? They're transcribing, not translating.

This might come in handy. I haven't watched anime in years, but I've been thinking about watching some as a bit of a rest after the leadup to JLPT. Then again I've also been thinking about jumping right into 漢検 :/
