Sometimes you just got to give credit where credit is due. Anki is simply an awesome program and I don't know where I would be in all my language adventures without it. Now that I bought a smartphone and see how fast Ankidroid works and synchronizes, I can't help but marvel at the awesome people that put in a lot of hours to make this work so nicely. Thanks guys!

Post here if you also feel like giving Anki some love!

Showing appreciation is great, but it would be even better to donate. One of the first things to do when I get a credit card is donating to these awesome people!

Anki's definitely a real lifehack. What really impresses me though is the syncing capabilities with anki online. That's a pretty stellar service to be offering for free, especially when they don't seem to be taking in any ad revenue. I sort of wonder how they do it. Their only income seems to be ankimobile (I got it. Worth every penny) and donations.

There's something about my network that prevents me from downloading shared decks. It really sucks but I don't know how to fix it Sad

Yes, thank you to anyone involved with Anki who is reading this. It's been an invaluable service and even a motivator. Smile

I'm having some trouble understanding a few things about Anki 2. I want to be able to:

1.) Look at a list of the Kanji ordered by Heisig's order.
2.) Select a range and designate a review time/random range. (Could do this, but not without ruining #1.)

Anki might be part of the reason I'm still into this; reviewing the words you learnt in this fashion is really painless, although the card-adding interface has worsened; the furigana generator messes up if you try to fix furigana errors...

Apart from that, it is an invaluable tool indeed. Big Grin

I don't use it any longer for 日本語, but there's no question that drilling vocab in Anki was critical to booting me up to the point where I could start digging into native material. When I start Korean, I'll definitely use Anki to help boot up my vocab and knowledge of basic sentence structure.

Damien (the creator of Anki) sometimes posts on this forum when there is a thread about Anki. I hope he's reading this.

Thanks Damien!!! Anki is almost solely responsible for getting me up and above N1. And it looks like it is going to be an invaluable resource for 漢検.

I adore Anki. It just gives me so much /confidence/ to be able to study as much as I want without worrying about keeping track of it all since Anki does that for me :') Talk about motivation maintenance! I've been doing Japanese every day for nearly 5 straight months, a huge thing for me, and I'm fairly sure that I owe much of that success to this program!

(Does that sound like a cheesy testimonial? Yes? Oh)

I will definitely be donating soon (after the summer birthdays are out of the way).

I love anki too, but I miss the simplicity of the old version(which, ironically enough the new version was supposed to be a more "easy to use" version)

I love old version Anki, still use it. Old schooler for life.

Anki is great, but I agree about the new version. Finding it really hard to use compared to the old version and for some reason no plugins are working for me.

I feel so amazed right now. Like, holy shit batman technology nowadays!! Subs2SRS created a bunch of anki cards from a Clannad episode by itself in no time and then I just copy-pasted the export file over to AnkiDroid on my phone and now I can sync, review and study wherever I go. I've been using computers since I was a kid about 25 years ago, but this... so simplicity, such useful, wow!
