Studying abroad in Japan in around 2 weeks

#1
Hey everyone

First post on this forum, but I've always been looking around oops

Anyway I'm going to study abroad soon for around 6 weeks and I wondering if you all have any recommendations. I've been studying Japanese for around 4 months now. I only know about 70 kanji, not a lot of vocabulary, but I have all the basic grammar down. I just started the RTK which of course won't help me until I finish it and start learning vocabulary. Anyone have any recommendations of what I should do?

On a side note,
Whats the usual route after RTK or even during. I hear people go from RTK to Core 2k/6k, is that the most ideal way?

Thanks

Pretty much anything you do will help your japanese in some small way and at any rate there's not much you can do learn in just 2 weeks, so I would recommend doing whichever japanese related activity is most fun for you, regardless of how much/little you understand. If you don't have or intend to get a smart phone in japan, you might want to look at buying an electronic dictionary.

It might be worth practicing writing out a self introduction and finding out some of that specific to you vocabulary (hobbies etc) because you're going to use it a LOT.

It entirely depends on the individual, their study and learning preferences, and context in which they are learning and any particular aims which may give way to a higher importance or value to certain aspects of the language over others.

You may be better off using the search function or giving a little more detail as what it is more specifically you are aiming for, in respect to the target language, and how it is going to be primarily used.
