I'm 2/3 through core6k deck. I plan to do the rest of core6k and afterwards go through jlpt only vocab that appears in core10k deck. I'm also mining vocab from native materials at the same time, but my main target is to pass N1 in the next 1.5 -2 years.

So basically my question is:
Is there a way to suspend all the cards in core10k, besides the ones listed in http://www.tanos.co.uk/jlpt/jlpt1/vocab/combined/ or from one of these decks?

I believe you can do this in Anki 2 alone; as I did this last year when moving a JLPT deck into Core 6k :

* Import the shared deck
* Export it as csv, xsl, whatever ensuring 'export tags' is selected
* Import it again from the file you exported. (Choose the correct Deck/Type, type will usually be 'Japanese')

You can do this in one step, but it's safer like so:

1. When reimporting map the first field (most likely Expression) and the tag field, leaving all other fields unmapped. Ensure the drop down is set to "Update existing notes when first field matches"

2. Delete the cards with only an expression/tag.

3. Re-import again with "Ignore lines where first field matches existing note" and map the fields as close as you can.

If the decks are practically identical in layout, you can map all the fields on the first step.

Thanks! Worked just like I wished for. Only little over 1600 cards that matches the jlpt list, from 3800 cards that are exclusive to core10k.

I think I'm gonna do the same with the 2k cards left to do in core6k deck. Should've done it at the very beginning with core decks.

edit: seems like there isn't much worth deleting in core6k deck, so full core6k +1600 cards from core10k left that goes well with jlpt.

If someone's interested in some stats.
I've also tried it the other way around - checked words in kanji and kana with the ones used in JLPT Vocabulary deck, and from Core6k +1600 words from 10k there were 6241/8311 matches. 75,1% vocab from JLPT deck covered.
