I used the "Kanzen Masuta" Grammar Exercises for JLPT Level 3 before and really liked it, so I am thinking to buy the Level 2 books, but I haven't found them in stores to look at, so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the Level 2 books before I mailorder them?

I have the grammar, kanji and reading comprehension books for level 2. I really like them... and I have another friend who swears by the series for JLPT prep (she took 1kyuu this year).

I didn't use the 3kyuu stuff, but I think it has English explanations in it... the 2kyuu grammar book does not, so it's really intense at first. It has some difficult vocab in it as well, so I spent a lot of time looking words up - but a lot of them are things you need to know for 2kyuu anyway. I also used the 日本語総まとめ問題集 grammar book which has English explanations... but overall I found the Kanzen Master book more helpful since it flat out gave you the meaning of the grammar point in Japanese. The 総まとめ問題集 book mostly just gives example sentences which made it difficult for me to tell the difference between some points that are really similar. I believe thejapanshop.com has sample scans of some of the pages of the Kanzen Master book.

The reading book REALLY helped me out a lot! It breaks down typical questions from the tests into the question patterns as well as the article types. I'd highly recommend that anyone taking 2kyuu pick it up and go through it.

I didn't get a chance to make much progress on the kanji book before test time this year, but it's on my list to do this year for some review whilst I'm waiting on the test results. I got kind of frustrated with it because of the fact that it wants to to write a lot of kanji (which is not a focus of the test) and my kanji writing skills are seriously lacking (hence why I've picked up on RTK in my spare time).

I don't have the kanzen master vocab book for 2kyuu.... I've heard that the vocab books from the 徹底分析 are better... I have the 1kyuu one, but haven't started on it just yet.
