I could correct the english, but I don't know exactly what you're trying to say with so little context.

I'm certainly not the top authority on Japanese here, but "what can you say about a Japanese woman" would be different than "How's a Japanese woman for you," which isn't correct English.
Maybe 「日本の女性について、何を言った方がいいですか」, but the question itself sounds pretty weird.

Which Japanese woman?
2013-04-30, 2:31 pm
Really? Never thought it's wrong.. Anyways, I won't argue with you because you are a native english speaker, so most likely I was wrong in that case. Hence, I was actually thinking a while ago of which of this is correct, 日本人の女 Or 日本の女。<--- I find this both similar, but I guess there should be a difference. If there is any, can you please tell me what it is? and as of the topic itself, what can you say about a japanese woman? xD

Splatted Wrote:Which Japanese woman?lol my thoughts exactly. Japanese women are women...but Japanese. You could say a lot about "all Japanese women," but nothing very specific. They're people. They mostly speak Japanese.
Anyway, this is a joke thread, right? I feel silly replying to your posts, pauro, but I'm not sure why...like I'm part of a joke I don't get.

I don't think you haven't had encountered questions similar to this one, and as far as I have remembered; this question had been asked several times on beauty pageants as per example, so what makes this thread a joke? If I have been asked about this question myself, my answer is their voice. I guess maybe not all but most of the japanese women in their adolescent age have a distinct voice tune that you can only hear from them, and I find it cute.I don't know, but maybe I've just made an unclear question so let me rephrase it - what can you say about a japanese woman that seems amusing to you that you can't see from other woman of other race?

So, "What's special about Japanese women?" or "What's your opinion on Japanese women?"
What's your native language?
What's your native language?

1. 99.99% of the time you cannot use が before question words. Use は instead.
2. Avoid using 女 for "woman"; sometimes it's OK but often it sounds insulting and has a feeling like "bitch". 女性 or 女の人 are better.
Now, 日本人の女性はどうですか seems like an odd question to me but I guess it's OK.

I might make it 日本人の女性はどう思いますか since it sounds a little less to me like it's strictly a love-life question.
pauro2 Wrote:what can you say about a japanese woman that seems amusing to you that you can't see from other woman of other race?If I wanted to be more specific in this way I'd probably say something like 日本人の女性のユニークなところは何でしょうか。 (What is unique about Japanese women?)
Or maybe: 日本人の女性とほかの国の女性との違う点は何だと思いますか? (What do you think are the different points of Japanese women and women from other countries?)
Not sure how natural these sound though.

So I guess everyone already knew what this thread of mine is all about, so what's your answer to my question. =P What japanese woman really amuses me is their voice, it's really cute for me and will make it perfect if they are physically cute as well. Oh my God, elaborating more just makes me study more of the language for me to be able to communicate properly with one. xD
2013-05-01, 4:24 pm
They're not animals...
2013-05-01, 4:28 pm
Well, technically they are. So are you and me.
But I must admit I'm not a big fan of the "I want to study Japanese because asian chicks are hot" thing -- but everyone has their own reasons for studying.

Yeah, I don't come down on others' reasons to learn languages. I just thought the way you wrote about them, pauro, makes it sound like you're at some kind of a safari, where you're looking at wild Japanese women while dreaming about taming them as pets or something. ^^'
I've read a couple of your posts in certain other threads, and it looks like you want to learn Japanese and live in Japan because you want a future with a Japanese girl, right? I think that if you do manage to learn Japanese, live in Japan and get close to people, you'll find that Japanese women are just as much people with different personalities, traits and motivations as the women in whatever country you're in now. I admit that Asian girls can have a certain charm to them, but if you get past that exotic feeling ("yellow fever"?), you'll realize that "cute voice and physically cute" isn't that elaborate at all. surely there are tons of girls in your country that fit that description?
I don't want to be mean, but I'm betting you'll eventually decide that chasing after the chicks isn't worth all this effort, or you'll find other things through learning the language and about Japan that you value.

If your goal is to chase girls then I would suggest moving here without knowing Japanese. You'll have a longer shelf life.

I do have a feeling pauro might be setting himself up for some heartbreak. Deciding on what an ideal woman is like ahead of time and chasing after that ideal is an effort that has tendency to go up in flames. It's also considered pretty creepy, at least by most people in America or Japan (I can't comment on other countries, as I don't know).
Also, there may be cultural differences between the women in your country and Japanese women that you view positively--indeed, a lot of Japanese women do go for a cutesy voice and cute look--but the cultural differences are diverse, complicated, and many. You'll also likely come across cultural differences that are frustrating or unattractive to you, and they are hard to predict ahead of time.

Also, depending on what kind of "cutesy voice" we are referring to. Its actually fake usually.

By the way, I'm curious, how old are you pauro? If you don't think it's rude to ask, that is.

LOL @ correcting the question in English, because I'm sure everyone understood what he was asking about!
About the original question, I find east Asian girls look cuter than others, which is something I like, nothing more. Other than that, everything that I would look for/would attract me in a girl, can be found in girls from anywhere

Now I'm interested in knowing how long you have been learning Japanese!
